Tissue World 2007: The best one ever!
Nice is great success, drawing 2,400 top executives and tissue makers from 89 countries worldwide
Nice, France . . . Tissue World 2007, the world’s leading conference and exhibition for the tissue industry, was an astounding success. Held at the Acropolis in Nice, France, during March 26 to 29th, Tissue World 2007 attracted nearly 2,400 visitors to the show, as well as 375 delegates to the management and technical conference held alongside the exhibition. In total, an impressive 89 countries were represented at the event, which clearly confirmed Tissue World in Nice as THE GLOBAL MEETING PLACE for the tissue business.
The general opinion from most of the experienced tissue industry professionals in attendance was that the 2007 edition was the BEST TISSUE WORLD EVER both in terms of the conference as well as the exhibition. On the show floor, the aisles were crowded, the stands were busy, people were buying and selling, and much business was being conducted. Compared to previous shows, the visitors stayed longer and even on the traditionally slow third day of the exhibition, the floor was still very busy.
Among the many highlights of the event was the excellent keynote speech delivered by Alberto Cappellini, President – Family Care Europe, at Kimberly-Clark. Entitled ‘Adding Value Through Innovation’, Cappellini’s speech set the tone for the entire week with his powerful insight into the driving forces of growth and the need for new external focus. “Rather than looking inwards to our industry,” he suggested, “the tissue business needs to look outward to other markets and industries if it is to continue to evolve and take advantage of growth opportunities.”
The program included, for the first time ever, a full day devoted entirely to management and market issues, which was very favorably received by the delegates. Participants at the conference included a wide range of positions, from presidents and vice presidents of many of the world’s tissue companies to key operating people from tissue making and converting operations around the globe. In all, the conference included approximately 60 interesting and informative presentations on management, market, technical and operational issues impacting the business.
This was the first Tissue World event in Nice held under CMP Asia management since the events were acquired in 2005 from Paperloop. The subtle but very important improvements that CMP Asia has made seem to have helped in achieving the excellent success of Tissue World 2007.
The next Tissue World event in Nice is planned for March 23-26, 2009 in Nice, while Tissue World Americas will take place in Miami on 11-14 March 2008 and Tissue World Asia in Shanghai on November 19-21, 2008.
