The Tissue World Advisory Board is compiled from experts in tissue industry. These experts work with the Tissue World Miami team to ensure the quality and relevance of the conference  content  by providing their guidance and expertise.



Martin Fairbank, President, Martin Fairbank Consulting, Canada 

Martin Fairbank earned a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Victoria, BC, Canada. His 35 years in the pulp and paper industry include many years with Resolute Forest Products, where he worked in R&D, technology application, product development, lean manufacturing implementation, and energy management. Since 2016 he has run his own consulting business, focusing on providing technical expertise to clients as well as writing articles for several print and online publishers.   

As energy manager at one mill, Martin was responsible for optimizing energy usage, and as corporate energy manager for Resolute he set up an energy measurement and management system. He has participated in several industry conferences as a presenter or moderator and has taught several industry-sponsored courses.

Martin has published 22 technical papers, 2 patents, and a book on the history of Resolute Forest Products. A former Executive Councilor for PAPTAC (Pulp and Paper Technical Association of Canada), he is currently Lead Associate Editor of JFOR magazine and a PAPTAC Fellow


Bodo Kottwitz, Principal, B-Kay Tissue - Advice, Germany

After studying Process Engineering – Pulp & Paper Manufacturing in Munich Bodo spent around 25 years in and around the tissue industry. This includes tissue manufacturing and converting, chemical additives, post-graduate education and consulting. In 2004 he started his own management consulting business called BKay-Tissue Advice, mainly focussing on strategic services within the global tissue and hygiene business. Bodo established a network of experts for dedicated assignments. For several years, he supported the risk managers of a leading bank in Europe in large pulp and paper projects including tissue and for some years, he was in parallel member of the board of directors of a paper company in Scandinavia.

Gabriele Coli, Engineering Converting Manager, Lucart S.p.A, Italy

Gabriele Coli earned a Master’s degree in Engineering from University of Pisa. He has been working for the Lucart Company for almost 20 years in the technical department of the Group, being currently Converting Technology Manager. Lucart Group is an Italian company having mills in four different European countries, with over 1,500 people employed, 12 paper machines and over 65 converting lines. Gabriele’s main activity is focused on the development of new plants and solutions for the tissue converting business of his company. He collaborates as a teacher with the Celsius Master Carta & Cartone, a one-year academic specialisation programme held in the well-known paper district of Lucca (Italy).

Bill Moore, President, Moore & Associates, USA

Bill Moore is president of Moore & Associates, an international consulting firm that provides a range of strategic services and research to global recycling organizations.

Bill has had a forty year career as an environmental business professional. Prior to establishing his own consulting firm, Bill held a series of positions in the chemical, solid waste, paper, and recycling industries. This included Director of Recycling for Waste Management, Inc., where he was responsible for the startup of the “Recycle America” program, the largest introduction of recycling services in the United States. Earlier in his career, Bill was a hazardous and groundwater waste expert and was at the forefront of the US manufacturing industry’s move for waste reduction through process optimization. Bill’s unique knowledge base includes all aspects of the global supply and demand of recovered paper, where he is currently considered the leading expert.

John Holton, Customer Service Coordinator & Technical Support, Toscotec North America, USA

Holton has 35 years’ experience in the tissue industry. His positions include technical, production, maintenance and engineering management, TAD start-up manager, and Yankee services.
